We hear it all the time. Volunteers get paid in satisfaction and that's something money can't buy. Julia Sanchez's retirement isn't what she imagined. It's better. Long hours and hard work never felt so good.

Posted 11:18am August 21st, 2009Wonderful story, heart warming in deed. If everyone were as generous with their time and money this would be a better world to live in. The animals are lucky to have Julia and the other volunteers. God bless them all.

Posted 3:51pm August 7th, 2009What compassion - and endurance! Having volunteered at a wildlife rehab center and many humane societies -- I know how hard the work is -- but the satisfaction - priceless!! I have always been involved in animal welfare issues - but have been out of the volunteering for a year or so. This inspirational story makes me want to return......... and I'm sure I will. I'm very thankful for volunteers like this woman -- just think how thankful and lucky the animals are!! Best wishes to you for continued health so you can continue enjoying your "retirement".

Posted 9:06am August 7th, 2009I salute and thank a wonderful woman whose goal was "helping the helpless". This effort is very close to my heart......in fact, a life-long goal. Near me, there is a place called Noah's Ark. Going through the gate feels like entering heaven--God's work. Here are the children and animals who have been abused, orphaned or injured, but are now helping each other heal. The interaction of the children and animals gives the love and caring they have missed. Some are forever residents and some will eventually return to their natural homes. Volunteering is rewarding and certainly needed.

Posted 1:12pm August 6th, 2009What a wonderful lady. I love animals too and I love her for taking her time to take care of the animals I have two horses I rescued. My horses give me back more than I could ever give them. We need more folks like this young lady.
