When her husband suddenly passed away, Margaret Trost became inconsolable. She struggled to rediscover the joy in the world.
But then, a chance trip to Haiti opened her eyes to unimaginable suffering of the people in one of the world's poorest countries. Her heart opened open to the people there, and in return, she was filled with a sense of purpose.
That life-changing trip led her to start the What If Foundation, which funds a food program in Haiti. She's also written about her experiences in her book, "On That Day Everybody Ate: One Woman's Story of Hope and Possibility in Haiti."

Posted 6:48 am March 30th, 2009Thanks for leading me to this sight. I do have her book and am about a third of the way through. I can only feel admiration, but I can only feel how both inner strength and beauty shined from Margaret and reflected on to those young women in the hospice. Everyone Margaret touch and everyone who touched her grew in a personal way through "therapeutic touch". That is a form of communication we, in america for get about with our elderly and sick. I truly admired what Margaret has shared because it encourage me to continue doing on a local level in LA. SHe feels we shouldn't be blind to those who suffer and if we can give, the opportunities and sense of belief in all mankind can be spread. She is a remarkable woman and I am gad to know her and to have experienced her journey through he book. God Bless you Margaret Trost. The love you spread and the therapeutic touch shall spread beyond your mission.
