Check out these high speed photos of the final meter in the 100 meter butterfly in Beijing. Michael Phelps is on the left, and Milorad Cavic of Serbia is on the right.  Look at Phelps hands in the top photo. Amazingly, as Cavic glides, Phelps takes a lighning fast half-stroke to out-touch Cavic by 0.01 of a second to win the gold medal. It was Phelps’s seventh gold medal win, equaling Mark Spitz’s 1972 Munich games record.

GB Exclusive Clip: Listen to an unknown 15-year-old by the name of Michael Phelps just moments after qualifying for his first-ever Olympics. This is the moments Phelps amazing Olympic journey began.
Check it out.

It's a good thing they've got the technology to prove it because, to the naked eye (let's say to all the naked eyes glued to the tv as it happened), MP barely lost this one.
    Damn that was exciting!
