Tom left his high-profile and high-paying job as CEO of H&R Block to teach math at an inner-city middle school in Kansas City. It wasn't an easy transition, but what he experienced inspired him to discover a roadmap for improving education for all.
He founded the University Academy, a college prep charter school in Kansas City. Its success has been unprecedented and Tom says the formula is simple -- better teachers equal better students.
