These days, we're all finding ways to do more with less. While we’re milking every mile from our gas tanks, there is one community in America that seems unconcerned about the price of gas. In a strange way, The Villages, Florida is one of the most progressive communities in the world. It’s a peek into a cleaner, more energy independent future.

Posted 1:28pm September 22nd, 2008I live here in The Villages and we use our golf cart as our main mode of transportation. There are close to 90 miles of trails and streets where we can drive our cart. We go to the hospital, doctor, grocery store, movies, etc. using the cart. The Villages is currently about 15 miles long by 5 miles wide and has just about everything that you can find in a large town, all accessible by golf cart.
