In 2010, Roz Savage was named National Geographic adventurer of the year.

Now 44, she holds four world records for ocean rowing, including being the first woman in history to row solo across three oceans --the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans.

She has rowed more than 15,000 miles in a 23-foot rowboat and spent 520 days alone on the sea.

Roz has appeared on the Growing Bolder Radio Show several times, and during her last appearance in the fall of 2010 (click here to listen to it), she told us she was retiring and was going to focus on environmental activism.

In a move that surprised no one (well, except for Roz herself), she has now unretired, only this time, she's going to have some company.

She explains how a rowing friend talked her into taking on a new challenge -- rowing across the North Atlantic Ocean. She says she's looking forward to the opportunity to learn about teamwork, even if she has to learn it while rowing across one of the most extreme and harsh environments in the world.

Her new rowing partner is named Andrew Morris, and the two Brits have big plans for their finish. If all goes well, they will arrive in London right in time for the 2012 London Olympics.
