Editors Note: Margery Meyer passed away at the age of 87 on Nov. 25, 2009 after a private 2-year battle with cancer.

You could say that Margery Meyer took to swimming like a fish to water.  After taking up swimming in her mid-60s, she is ranked No. 1 in the nation in four swimming events in the 80-84 age group.

She says she loves distance events because she finds that the longer she swims, the more energy she gets.
Find out what motivated her to get into the pool and why she took up competitive swimming. Plus, find out what swimmers really think of those tight Speedos!
