Jim Shaffer was never athletic, but at the age of 54, he decided to stop smoking and start working out. Something totally unexpected happened -- he liked it! How much? Well, now, at the age of 75, he is stronger and healthier than ever. Oh, yes, he's also a champion bodybuilder! See how he made this incredible transition.

Posted 6:33pm November 18th, 2011I started lifting weights when I was 25 years old. Although I have switched to running with some weight training at home (I now use kettlebells for weight training), I never lost the core strength I developed over 25 years ago.
Weight training (however you do it) is great for older people, and necessary to maintain muscle mass which protects our joints and back, and for men and women alike, can increase bone mass.
Now that I have said all this, I'd like to know if anyone out there who is supposedly "Growing Bolder" is bold enough to participate in any way with "The 99%" movement. I went down to Wall Street yesterday to see it for myself: I can tell YOU, our "Growing Bolder" community, that there were MANY OLDER PEOPLE participating in the demonstrations. There were people of ALL ages who traveled from all over our country to be there. They are most definitely NOT a bunch of wild young people, they are NOT just unemployed. Many there were gray haired people who are deeply disturbed by what our country has become.
This sight appears to be sponsored by medical institutions, but I do not know if those institutions are part of a medical monopoly. I hope not. There are still some quality medical facilities that are not corrupted by a pursuit of profits over human life. Those institutions should be identified and praised because those institutions keep us healthy and active like many of the gray haired people I met yesterday participating in the demonstrations on Wall Street.
Now where is the story of Dorli Rainy, the VERY BRAVE AND BOLD 84-year-old woman in Seattle who was doused with pepper spray along with many others by a large contingent of police who trapped and sprayed them when they did nothing to provoke this assault?
