Author Pierre Khawand is making it easier for consumers to purchase the latest generation of high-tech cell phones with his step-by-step guide book, "The Smartphone Experiment."

Cell phones have come a long way since they first hit the market over a decade ago. Most have gotten much smaller but they have added a ton of new features. These days, so-called smartphones have everything from e-mail to Word documents to cameras and even MP3 players. 

Khawand says that many average people are overwhelmed not only with the features on any given phone, but the selection of smartphones on the market.

He talks to Growing Bolder about how smartphones will be in everyone's future very soon and which ones are his favorite.
