The story behind the story goes like this.....After moving to The Villages following 5 years of living aboard a boat in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, my wife and I still have a passion for the water.  Thus the inspiration for my video.  It was shot using a Sony DCR-TRV740 Digital Handycam.  This is not an expensive camera in the sense of what the pros use.  ($700 range).  The video was edited using Pinnacle Studio 11.  This software does a very nice job and is available at about $150 or less.  The background music was composed by me using Sony Acid Pro 5.0.  This is a fairly expensive and complicated process, but can be self-taught as was the case for me.  This video just recently won me the "2008 Buffee Rising Star Award" for Best Documentary Short - The Villages Category.  So the bottom line is, you don't need a lot of expensive equipment.  Dust off that camcorder, buy yourself an inexpensive tripod, and shoot, shoot, and shoot some more.  Then piece it all together with your video editing software and tell a story!

VERY cool video! Peaceful, calming, soothing... GREAT job!!! And what a great idea, to wrap it all around bodies of water. Well played. Thanks very much for posting it here! So, fill us in! How did you do it? Do you have an expensive camera? What do you do your editing on? Are you self taught or an experienced filmmaker? We'd love to hear the story behind the story! I'm sure there are a LOT of us out here who'd love to be able to make our home video look better. There's a LOT we can learn from you!

Film highlights various water scenes within The Villages.  "There is so much to see and so much to do in The Villages, but for me....just lead me to the water!"
