i am very interested in seeing the finished product
i am giving you my e-mail address and ask only that you share a picture or two
as you go on garymogridge@shaw.ca
i live in Canada Vancouver Island retired toooooooooo
many years ago i tried the towing business i worked on contract for a small town
they supplied the storage lot city owned and did all the accounting all i had to do was impound any and all cars that parked on the cities yellow lines
it worked very profitable for me for several years and i made a lot of enemies
the contract was never in doubt
except i learned that if you tow the mayor's car away from one of the zones
you get a lot of static to much actually when you do your job and it is stepping on a big set of feet
the public liked it and started to learn i was fast and efficient
as was my crew you want a job with me you show up with a tow truck painted as specified and in good condition and show me your insurance slip
i had 9 trucks on contract and we were good used to practice a lot toooooooo
2 and or 3 guys would go out ogether to make sure each new his job well
i never got to the point i was any bigger and we all went down the same day
our contract removed it was fun while it lasted
my truck was a reo not retored but rebuilt with anything that made it go
it had an olds engine because it fit with the tranny etc you get the picture
we were called vultures and at one point were thinking of painting the bird on our trucks
never happened we couldn't find a good enuff artist to do it
would it ever have been nice to have inter net then
if your making this into a tow truck i would like to see it i only like the old ones i never started saving pictures till recently retired now but any way can i get a picture from time to time

Thanks Mike, I've got the cab and chassis painted now. I chose black and silver to match my fleet of tow trucks. I have to design a back end for her but I already have a 1930 Weaver tow crane for it. Next is roof and window glass. I'm a busy girl so it will take a while to finish but It should be pretty cool when it is done! Heather
