Looking for something new to wear to the pool? Perhaps a look back to the styles of the '50s would provide some inspiration! Keep cool!
It's the one annual shopping activity that just never seems to be any fun. Swimsuit retailers say women try on an average of 25 suits before they find the right one. But the industry is trying to take the sting out of the process.
These days, shoppers will find a wider variety of styles, but even more important, a wider range in sizes. Probably the biggest improvement is allowing women to by different sized tops and bottoms. This sure makes finding the right fit much easier.
And some retailers, like Dillard's, have added certified fitters who measure your body and suggest the suits they think will work best. A new addition to Lands' End is SwimShape, which allows women to maximize or minimize cleavage. The maximizer versions have a molded push-up bra built inside; the minimizer has a bra that makes you one cup size smaller.
Those suits have an invention that Casper says is exclusive to Lands' End: silicone treatment incorporated in the suit at certain spots in the tummy, sides of tummy, and derriere.
So, it's not the 1950s anymore! Go out there, pick out the right suit for you and have a great summer!
