Thanks for getting off the couch and joining me on the trail. The Smoky Mountains will always be a favorite destination of mine and I hope the videos at www.hikerjoe.com will encourage you to get back to nature and find ways to preserve it as well.

Thanks again for the comments and the views of my nutty hikes and please check my new video out of a trip to Baltimore, Maryland in December 2007. I found some new friends there just trying to survive living on the streets. Like you and I they have dreams but seem to be a million miles away from them.

What a great way to begin the year!  It looks beautiful.  Living in Florida, I definitely miss seeing hills in the distance. Thanks for the video postcard of one of the prettier places in this country!

We want to welcome Hiker Joe to the Growing Bolder community! Here's a note he posted on his web site that lets us know a little more about him! We look forward to more videos, more blogs and more Hiker Joe!

Many of you have stumbled across hikerjoe.com and found an entertaining site or possibly you may have been inspired to dust off the hiking boots and find nature again. My journeys have taken me up mountains and landed me in the middle of those in need. The path I have taken has been laid before me and on many occasions it has been traveled by many just like me. As I greet the future I see much hope in a time of great despair. My hope is in my faith and in bigger things than myself. Great causes require everyday people to open their hearts and give their support to make a difference.
