Doesn't it seem like everything these days is a competition? Here's what happens when you set up a race for people who could care less about competing. The Passive Aggressive 800 Meter race is a creation from the unusual mind of Demetri Martin.
Here at Growing Bolder we're always talking about taking chances and reinventing yourself. Martin is a great example of what can happen. He was on his way to a lucrative and prestigious law career when he suddenly dropped out of the NYU law school to pursue his real dream of being a broke, semi-employed entertainer. Unfortunately, success got in the way.
He came to the attention of Comedy Central in 2006. They released a CD/DVD of his stand-up routine and before he knew what hit him, Entertainment Weekly named him one of the "25 Funniest People In America." He has also performed and written for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
Here is a brief, to the point, clip from his Comedy Central show, "Important Things with Demetri Martin."
