Sen. Ted Kennedy died shortly before midnight Tuesday at his home in Hyannis Port, Mass., at age 77. The man known as the "Lion of the Senate" had fought a year-long battle with brain cancer.
"We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever," the Kennedy family said in a statement. "He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it."

Posted 10:58am August 27th, 2009I wonder, when the lion received his diagnosis, if the thought ever came into his mind that some of the doctors who might have found a cure for his condition may be among the 50 million aborted babies he, and others like him, so courageously argued should be killed.
