Of every holiday, perhaps the one we need most of all right now is Thanksgiving. Its meaning seems to have evolved over the last generation. Where previously Thanksgiving was mostly a salute to the pilgrims and Indians, today it's more of a stop and take stock of your life holiday.

Times are tough in this country. Many families have been stung by financial hardship, unemployment, spiraling health care costs and shrinking health care coverage. When times are tough it's very easy to forget how fortunate we really are.
