Masters Triathlon Championship

Getting Ready for Swim.jpg   The 2nd Annual Masters Triathlon Championship held Sunday, Oct. 26, in Orlando, Fla., featured an international field of men and women over the age of 40.  The meet was sponsored by our pal Sean Callahan and Masters Athlete Magazine and by GrowingBolder.com. It was staged by "Z" Buttar and Buttar.com.

The meet featured Olympic and Sprint distance races.

In the sprint triathlon, the men's race was won by Scott Devlin, of Hunter's Creek, Fla. in 1:01:02 and the women's race was won by Kim Clark of Maple Valley, Wash. in 1:23:35

In the women's Olympic distance triathlon, Colleen Zittel of Heathrow, Fla. finished first with a time of 2:21:50 while Christopher Gray of Windermere, Fla., won the men's race with a time of 2:07:33.

The prestigious Growing Bolder Award, honoring those of exceptional spirit who through their actions deliver a powerful message, was won by 69-year-old Tony Handler, a six-time cancer survivor. To read more about Tony and the Growing Bolder Award, click here.
