      Monday Afternoon in Alaska

      It has been a quiet, blustery day in camp. Our 3-note sparrow has been singing all morning. The bears are still out clamming. The Camp Crew have been catching up on chores - Fannie fixed up the stairs to the beach and added a railing. Now all are trading stories around the fire -- cozy indeed!       Sunday Around Camp...

      Last evening, Fannie and the camp setup crew took a little time and went down to the creek and were able to observe 5 bears out by the meadow, feeding on sedge grass. Hard to determine which bears, as they still carry their thick winter coats. There was a chill in the air, so when they got back to camp, the cook had the fireplace going and was making popcorn and hot chocolate.
