It's official, HD-DVD is dead. I'm so relieved I went with Blu-Ray six months ago. It was not a decision I took lightly, since my mother still has about a hundred beta tapes at home. HD-DVD fans will likely get a good deal on existing stock of that format, and if they keep their machines in working order, they should enjoy their collection for years to come.
