For a man who has run over 100 marathons at least 100 miles long each and climbed to the top of all the seven summits of the world, it's hard to believe Marshall Ulrich was a bit of a coach potatoes until he was almost 30.
John took 2 people on a day-trip hike and they saw 2 bears in the meadows. They walked back through Nancy's Trail and soon the bears appeared on our side of Nancy's Trail, and they were following the people to see where they were going. Then all of a sudden, the bears went up into the bushes and could no longer be seen. It was a wonderful day of guided sightseeing.
Trip to Swikshak Bay via Nancy's trail this AM, adolescent bear was clamming at 200 yards from shore the entire time. Very dark bear came down to tide flat halfway to Big River at 10:30 AM. Raven and seagull served as refuse worker for a bear closeby. No critters on meadow this afternoon, though tracks galore on the main trail: moose, bear, wolf. Maybe Fannie's white wolf?

I bought a new motorcycle this week and I just had to take it out for a breakin ride, and what a georgous day to do it.
