"The Growing Bolder TV Show" Now Airing in Two Top-20 Television MarketsPosted January 12, 2010, 11:11 am in Television
MAITLAND, Florida, Jan. 12 -- The Growing Bolder Media Group, one of America's leading producers and distributors of active-lifestyle content for television, radio and the Web, announces the expansion of The Growing Bolder TV Show. Starting January 12, 2010, episodes will air on PBS affiliates in two top-20 television markets; WMFE-TV in Orlando, Florida and WEDU-TV Tampa, Florida.
The Growing Bolder TV Show targets people who believe it's not about age; it's about attitude, and highlights stories of masters athletes, cancer survivors, musicians, health experts and more – all with a common link of Growing Bolder, not growing older. WEDU-TV (PBS) has signed on to air The Growing Bolder TV Show weekly on Tuesdays at 3pm.
The Growing Bolder TV Show initially launched its weekly half-hour program on WMFE-TV, the PBS affiliate in Orlando, Florida, in 2008. President and General Manager José Fajardo says, "Growing Bolder is a success on many levels. For our viewers, it's a professionally-produced, compelling and fun program. It proves that it's never too late to reach for your dreams. For WMFE, it's a great partnership with a Florida-based company that is creating content that is beneficial for all Americans."
Produced and delivered in stunning high-definition, The Growing Bolder TV Show is archived online at http://GrowingBolder.com/gbtv. This unique Web site allows people from all over the world to watch the programs, comment, share with friends and even interact with award-winning hosts Marc Middleton and Bill Shafer.
Middleton, President and CEO of The Growing Bolder Media Group, says, "We believe that this show is a reflection of what's happening in the world – these days, you don't have to stop living at any age. You can start a new career, overcome illness and disease, pursue a fitness goal and smash all the existing stereotypes of age. Producing the show is easy, because we're just telling the stories of thousands of men and women who are Growing Bolder."
In 2008, PBS announced a plan to expand and refine its programming for older Americans, called the 50+ Lifestage Initiative (source: National Educational Telecommunications Association). Its goals are to deliver information to help people age vitally, inspire people to enrich their lives and communities and improve perceptions and expectations about aging. Now in its third season, The Growing Bolder TV Show fulfills those goals with video features, audio interviews and more, all told by award-winning storytellers and journalists.
Among the show's underwriters, The Growing Bolder TV Show is supported by Winter Park Urology Associates, Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic and Physician Associates.
