Showcasing Adults 65 and Older Pursuing Their Life’s Passion

The New 65+ Selfie Photography Contest is a stereotype-smashing initiative that celebrates the opportunities, achievements, and aspirations of older adults — men and women who, no matter their age, abilities, opportunities, or challenges, have found their own way to experience joy, passion, and enthusiasm for life.

Through the photos and examples of ordinary people, The New 65+ Selfie Photography Contest challenges long-held stereotypes about what it’s like to age.

As we age, passion powers purpose, creativity, connectivity, health, wellbeing and active longevity. Submit a selfie photo of yourself engaged in any passion that brings you joy — painting, traveling, playing sports, writing, playing an instrument, exercising, cooking, playing cards with friends, or any number of hobbies and interests. Enter as many times as you like.

Contest FAQs

How do I enter?

Submit a selfie photo while you are engaged in any activity that brings you joy. As we age, passion powers our purpose, connectivity, and creativity. Passion powers health, wellbeing, and active longevity. Share your passion through a selfie photograph — painting, traveling, playing sports, writing, playing an instrument, exercising, cooking, playing cards with friends, or any number of hobbies and interests. Enter as many times as you like.

How will a winner be chosen?

Photos will be judged by a third-party professional photographer, with criteria based 50% on The New 65+ theme described above, 25% on style, and 25% on creativity.

Who can enter?

Contest is free to enter and is open to all photographers, amateur or professional, age 18 or older and subject to official rules and regulations.

What’s the deadline?

Entries must be submitted from 12:01am ET on August 8th, 2024 to 11:59pm ET on September 7th, 2024.

The Prize

The winning photo, photographer bio, and story will be showcased at The New 65+ live event exhibit at The Grand Ole Opry 99^th Birthday Celebration and Community Day, October 12^th – 13^th, 2024.
The winning photo, photographer, and story will be featured in a news release.
The winning photo will be featured across the Growing Bolder and Humana social media and digital platforms.
The winning photo, photographer, and story will be featured in a cover story in Growing Bolder Digital Magazine.
Growing Bolder will conduct an online interview with the winning photographer, which will be featured across our entire platform including TV shows, website, radio, podcast and more.
