In the 1960s, the Shangri-Las were the most famous girl group on the planet. They were red hot from 1964 to 1966 with hits like “Leader of the Pack” and “Remember (Walking in the Sand).”
Now, after a 40-year absence, lead singer Mary Weiss is back with a punkish pop album at the age of 58.
She talked to Growing Bolder about returning to the studio after so much time away and why she has shunned the spotlight for most of her adult life.
