Florida Blue Medicare has several options to help you avoid a crowded doctor’s office, and other sick patients, by using virtual care for non-emergency illnesses, such as a sinus infection, allergies or an upset stomach. This is especially important for older adults, who may be more prone to getting the coronavirus from those around them.
Teladoc
As long as the coronavirus continues to be a health concern, Medicare Advantage members will have $0 cost share for 24/7 virtual visits with Teladoc.
You’ll need to set up a Teladoc account, including sharing your medical history, before your first visit. Doing this ahead of time will fast-track visit requests. You can set up your account on Teladoc.com or the app from the Apple App or Google Play stores. Care is available in English and Spanish. Call Teladoc at 800-835-2362 if you have questions.
Please note: You cannot get a referral for the coronavirus test from Teladoc. Consult your local doctor by phone or the Florida Department of Health’s 24/7 COVID-19 call center at 1-866-779-6121 for a referral and local COVID-19 testing locations. The test must be completed in person. Call us at 1-800-926-6565 if you need help finding a local doctor.
mySanitas Chat
Patients of Sanitas Medical Center can also take advantage of $0 cost share virtual visits through the mySanitas app. Doctors are available 7 a.m.-8 p.m. seven days a week. Sanitas doctors can help you with next steps if you have coronavirus symptoms and need a test. You can download the mySanitas Chat app from the Apple App or Google Play stores. Care is available in English and Spanish. Click here for more information.
Florida Blue Medicare providers
All members can also have a virtual visit with Florida Blue Medicare network providers who offer the service. You’ll pay the regular office visit cost share for a virtual visit with your primary care doctor, behavioral health provider or specialist. Call your doctor to see if they offer virtual visits.
