Alison Arngrim is back on the Growing Bolder Radio Show by popular demand, which is surprising since she was one of most hated characters on TV.

The woman behind the nasty Nellie Oleson on the beloved show “Little House on the Prairie” says she’s not only made peace with being hated, but she actually liked it.

She says she had so much fun playing one of the greatest villians ever, particularly since she was so dreadfully shy herself yet and here I was playing someone everyone was terrified of.

Alison takes delight in her evil ways in her book, “Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.” She shares the funny story of her audition process and reveals her hilarious schtick on the top 10 questions she gets asked over and over again about the show.

Alison now travels the world, talking about her book, her one-woman show based on the book and her activism.

Since her TV husband Steve Tracy (who played Nellie’s husband Percival) died of AIDS in 1986, she has been an advocate for other AIDS patients, particularly those who lack support from their friends and family. She talks about how the entire “Little House on the Prairie” family rallied around him after his diagnosis, how important that support is and why she’s spent nearly 30 years volunteering for various AIDS organizations.

Alison is also a tireless advocate for abused children. She reveals that she herself was sexually abused as a child, and now she works to change laws to protect children across the country. Through her work with the National Association to Protect Children, seven states have since changed their laws.

Find out what she thinks about the fact that “Little House on the Prairie” still airs in 140 countries and why she’s so passionate about social media.
