Art Sherman captured the attention of the world when, at the age of 77, he became the oldest trainer in history to win the Kentucky Derby. He followed that up by becoming the oldest trainer in history to win the Preakness Stakes.

Over the years, his horses have more than 2,100 wins and $38 million of prize money but he had never trained a horse that ran in the Derby or Preakness until he won them both with California Chrome (note: Art and jockey Victor Espinoza are pictured above with California Chrome after the horse’s victory at the 2014 Preakness).

Art talks about how California Chrome has changed his life and how he’s a once-in-a-lifetime horse.

Plus, find out why Art doesn’t think the Triple Crown is a fair competition and how he thinks California Chrome stacks up against the legendary Seabiscuit.
