Either as a producer or sound engineer, Glyn Johns has had a hand in some of the most iconic albums in rock history, including The Beatles’ Abbey Road, Who’s Next by The Who and albums for Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, the Rolling Stones, the Clash, Eric Clapton and many more.
Glyn was there for some of the most amazing moments in rock history and he’s still at it today, sitting at the soundboard helping to create incredible music. He’s sharing stories from the booth in his memoir, Sound Man.
Glyn joins Growing Bolder to describe the fluke moment that led to his now legendary career in music. He also describes what it was like being there for the formation of the Rolling Stones and how it led to a long collaboration between himself and the group.
And could it possibly true that someone with a front-row seat to the excesses of fame, including drugs, was never tempted to live that way himself? He reveals why drugs never interested him and would have ruined his career.
