As the saying goes, one man’s treasure is another’s treasure. So, why can’t one man’s dumpster be another man’s home? It’s a question nobody had ever asked until Gregory Kloehn came along.

He sees value in just about anything that is normally tossed away. He is on a quest to recruit imaginative and skilled people, offer up all kinds of discarded materials, and challenge them to construct sturdy, livable shelters for homeless people.

Through his organization Homeless Homes, that’s exactly what he’s doing. Gregory explains how this idea was born after he graduated from art school when he was exploring ways to repurpose abandoned items.

Gregory explains the logistics of the homes and how he’s seen the very purposeful changes they’re making in the lives of homeless people.
