Peter Buffett is a musician, an Emmy Award-wining composer, a New York Times best-selling author, a philanthropist and the son of billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffett. Despite the fact that his father is one of the world’s richest men, Peter and his siblings were raised modestly and didn’t even learn of their father’s enormous wealth until deep into his teen years.

He describes why being born into wealth wasn’t the same thing as being privileged and how “normal” his childhood was.

Peter has also also sparked a spirited debate with a recent NY Times opinion piece that took many philanthropists to task for only doing activities that allow “the rich to sleep better at night.” Find out how he’d like to see philanthropy changed.
