The Dead are Grateful to Be Alive Again

Grateful Dead is reuniting for a special 50th anniversary celebration, nearly 20 years to the day of the last concert. Called “Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead,” the concert will be held at Soldier Field in Chicago in July 2015.

Joining Mickey Hart (71), Bill Kreutzmann (68), Phil Lesh (74), and Bob Weir (67) will be guitarist Trey Anastasio, keyboard player Jeff Chimenti and pianist Bruce Hornsby. Jerry Garcia, one of the Dead’s founders, died in 1995.

Garcia’s daughter made the official announcement on Dead50.net:
