At the age of 84, William Shatner continues to push himself to live up to the Star Trek motto, to go where no man has gone before! This time he has reinvented himself in a way that would even make Mr. Spock say, “fascinating!” Shatner has helped design a motorcycle called Rivet.

The bike is nothing if not bold, with a futuristic, steampunk design. It has just gone in to limited production and plans to ramp up once Shatner helps get the word out with a personal shake-out of his design.

This summer he plans to ride the new bike from Chicago to Los Angeles, which is a pretty good haul for anyone in their 80s! Of course, he’ll take a film crew along with him.

Shatner was in the United Arab Emirates appearing at a pop culture festival where during a question and answer session he expressed his desire to bring the bike to the UAE for additional filming.

Of course, the crowd was more interested in hearing him talk about Star Trek. They were delighted when Shatner disclosed he has been approached by the producers of the next Star Trek movie about perhaps making an appearance as Captain Kirk.

Shatner has been a terrific example of someone staying relevant even as the years fly by. From his popular role as Denny Crane in Boston Legal, to his successful run as the focal point of an ad campaign for Priceline, to a number of cable talk-shows and his vibrant social media presence he has continued to work, connect with audiences and prove what’s possible for actor of any age.
