How is the air you breathe and or even the people you hang out with affecting your health?
Dr. Eli Kim is an expert on environmental impact on our health, including the air we breathe, the food we eat and the people in our lives, and he is a physician with passion for wellness and prevention.
Dr. Kim is a graduate of the Loma Linda Medical School and is an Executive Healthy Physician at the Florida Hospital Institute for Lifestyle Medicine.
He tells us how his training in Loma Linda, long regarded as one of the healthiest cities in the world and the only Blue Zone city in America. He explains how the city’s focus on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health of its residents helps people living longer, fuller, healthier lives.
Dr. Kim says he’s taking what he learned there and using it at Florida Hospital, a place he says also focuses on the same guiding principles of Loma Linda.
“People are getting sick and tired of being sick and tired. They’d rather prevent illness in the first place and do things without medication,” Dr. Kim says.
He says all medications come with side effects but there aren’t any negative side effects of fitness and healthy eating.
He also explains why we all need more sunlight in our lives and how sunscreens are robbing us of vital Vitamin D.
