Her song “Friends and Lovers” was one of the top hits of the late 1980s, but it was just one chapter in a long and varied career.

Gloria Loring performed with The Supremes, the Pointer Sisters and many others. She co-wrote the theme songs of “Facts of Life” and “Diff’rent Strokes,” and starred in the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”

She’s also the spokesperson for Juvenile Diabetes and a certified yoga instructor.

In her new autobiography “Coincidence is God’s Way of Remaining Anonymous,” Gloria uses details from her life to inspire people to live fulfilled and spiritual lives.

She tells us how a series of miracles and coincidences have had such a huge impact on her life.

Find out why she now credits her painful childhood, including her father’s alcoholism and sexual abuse, with propelling her toward better and good things in life. She says she now refers to those obstacles as angels of adversity.

Lately, however, it’s been her son making all the headlines. She and her ex-husband actor Alan Thicke are the parents of singer Robin Thicke, whose MTV performance with Miley Cyrus got the entire nation talking.

She weighs in on the public’s outrage over Miley and other starlets and why she thinks there are few of us who should be casting stones at these girls for their excesses … even though she thinks Miley’s performance was “misbegotten and raunchy.” She offers a fascinating look at the state of the music industry today, including her son’s career, and why she’s glad her son’s success didn’t come as a teenager.
