Paul Reiser

For decades, Paul Reiser has been one of the most beloved stars of screen and TV.

The stand-up comedian, actor and writer created and starred in the acclaimed NBC series, “Mad About You,” which garnered him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy and Screen Actors Guild nominations.

He’s the author of “Familyhood,” “Babyhood,” and “Couplehood,” which sold more than 2 million copies and reached the No. 1 spot on the New York Times best-seller list.

In addition to his career in stand-up, Reiser starred in the sitcoms “Mad About You” and “My Two Dads.” He currently stars in the FX series “Married,” and has appeared in film classics like “Diner,” “Beverly Hills Cop I and II” and “Aliens.”

Paul chats with Growing Bolder about his return to stand-up after years away from the stage and describes how things have changed … yet stayed the same.

Why did he step away from Hollywood after “Mad About You” ended its long and successful run? He describes why he was happy to stop working at that pace and spend time focusing on his young children.

Paul says once he returned to stand-up, his first love in show business, other opportunities started to follow, including a role in the Oscar-nominated movie everyone is buzzing about this year, “Whiplash.”
