Bill Thomas, M.D., is a renowned gerontologist who has helped transform long-term care worldwide. A self-described “nursing home abolitionist,” he’s the founder of The Eden Alternative, a program that has deinstitutionalized nursing homes in all 50 states and around the world over the past 20 years.
Now he has his sights set on an even bigger, broader goal: He wants to change the way we all view aging. And the approach this Harvard-trained physician is taking has raised a few eyebrows. Dr. Thomas has been traveling the country starring in what he calls his Age of Disruption Tour, a “non-fiction theater performance” that has played in over 30 cities.
Dr. Thomas joins Growing Bolder via Skype to help dispel the stereotypes of aging that are weighing you down. He breaks his entire presentation down into three simple pieces of advice. It only takes a little over a minute but it packs a lot of punch. Get inspired to shake up your thinking.
