Albert Dragon practiced law for more than 50 years but as he sat at those desk for all those years, one thought kept him going — one day he was going to fulfill his lifelong dream. More than anything, he wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail.

He started at the age of 65, doing one section at a time. It took him five years, but he walked every step of the way.

He documents his life-and-death experiences in a book called, “Avalanche and Gorilla Jim.”

Albert says this was something he’d dreamed of since his childhood. Over the years, like many years, it faded away, but when he reached his 60s, he decided to just do it.

Find out what section of the 2,184-mile trail he hiked along first and what notorious criminal was hiding out along a section of the trail as Albert hiked through the very same area.

Plus, find out why the now 75-year-old still loves to hit the trails and why he thinks every Boomer should take up hiking.
