As America ages, an entirely new quality is beginning to emerge. Bill Collins calls it an Ageless Athletic Spirit. It’s also the title of his latest book. And as the fastest sprinter in the world over the age of 50, he knows about it firsthand.

Amazingly, his times are not much slower than they were when he was the star of the Mount Vernon High track team in New York. But he is a far different athlete now than he was then. He says he’s learned more effective, less harmful ways to train.

He explains concessions we all must make to age, not to slow things down, but to ward off the potential for injury. And he’s learned first-hand how difficult it can be to rehab from a serious setback. Collins is the rare combination of personal success and the desire to pass along what he’s learned.
