Stretching Yourself

Multiple research studies have shown that a regular stretching routine can keep your muscles strong and flexible, helping to reduce injuries and tension, improve circulation and lower your overall stress. So why don’t more of us do it more often?

Robin Wilson has spent her entire life stretching her body. A former professional dancer who trained with an original member of the famed Jose Limón Dance Company, she understands how crucial stretching is to keeping your muscles and limbs limber and flexible. That’s why she started teaching a class dedicated to helping older people, in particular, learn the proper ways to stretch via a university’s lifelong learning program. Now her classes attract undergrads and those in their 70s, 80s and beyond. She says the class has been nothing short of life-changing for her students.

Step inside one of Robin’s Stretch Yourself class and see how simple it is to change your life.

The Wellbeing Network is a way for the community at large to access resources, education and information offered at the Center for Health & Wellbeing. You can learn more about this exciting and revolutionary project in Growing Bolder Magazine.
