The Fabulous Father of Fly Fishing turns 90

Y Lefty Lefty Kreh, who virtually pioneered saltwater fly fishing as we know it today, has just turned 90. Over the last 70-years his rod and reel have taken him to incredible places and introduced him to world leaders, sports stars and national celebrities. He’s even had a run-in with a dinosaur! Young Lefty

He started fishing, not as a passion, but a means of survival during the Depression. He soon turned to fly fishing, where his methods and techniques are still used to this day. He began writing a fishing column which was carried by 11 newspapers. That led to articles in nearly every major outdoor magazines and ultimately more than 20 books.

Just as impressive as his technique is his gift as a storyteller! Even at 90, Lefty is larger than life!
