A Champion Bodybuilder, At Age 60

Three years ago, at the age of 57, Bonnie Ave began to worry when her doctor told her she was starting to lose bone mass.

Bonnie started reading a book and learned that strong, rigorous activities could help turn around that process. She started weightlifting and started to discover that she really liked it.

The more she lifted, the better she felt. And it inspired her to make other changes in her life — she started eating better and journaling about her changing health. All of these things combined to make her feel stronger, healthier and better all the time.

Now, at the age of 60 — just three years after she first started lifting — Bonnie is a champion bodybuilder.

She said she knew nothing about competitions but her trainer suggested she sign up for her first one to help give her a training goal. In her very first competition, Bonnie won the women’s 40 and over bodybuilding championship!

Find out why this 4 foot, 11 inch dynamo not only found a new way of living but a new love at the gym — her husband of three years.

And Bonnie explains why she’s a believe in a message from that book that changed her life — 70 percent of what we consider aging is lifestyle choice.
