ORLANDO (Nov. 5, 2020) – Ashley Heafy, a talented designer with a broad background in branding, illustration, content creation and photography, has been named creative director for Growing Bolder, a national leader in active lifestyle content production.
Heafy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, which produced luminaries that include Georgia O’Keefe, Grant Wood and Cynthia Rowley. Heafy was the former in-house designer at the Orlando Museum of Art and art director at a prominent Orlando creative agency before founding her own design company.
Heafy’s design has been described as “bold, joyful and inspired by telling stories that create visual solutions to problems.” Her creative portfolio includes branding and design work for local and international brands in the real estate, finance, music and food-and-beverage industries.
At Growing Bolder, Heafy has played a prominent role in the company’s visual re-branding across all its media platforms, including the company’s logo, website and magazine, “Growing Bolder,” the largest lifestyle publication in Florida with about 150,000 subscribers.
Growing Bolder President Robert Thompson said, “Ashley is a major addition to our team, and her experience and talent have elevated our brand to a completely new level. She has consistently been one of the most sought-after graphic designers in Florida, and now we are fortunate to have her leading our creative team.”
A former client of Heafy’s also sang her praises, saying, “I am always excited for opportunities to work with Ashley, because I know the end product will be perfect; and the journey getting there will be seamless.”
Heafy, a Central Florida native with a philanthropic nature, gained notoriety for artwork that is on display at the Orlando Regional History Center Pulse Anniversary Exhibit. Her heart-shaped design includes the words, “Love more, hate less,” raised about $7,000 for OnePulse, a foundation honoring the 48 people murdered at the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting.
“Working with Growing Bolder means contributing to a mission that empowers people to believe that every day we get older brings another opportunity to redefine your life in a world we are conditioned to falsely believe that aging is negative,” Heafy said. “Being able to bring thoughtful design and creativity into the space of aging is exciting, challenging and fulfilling.”
Outside her professional pursuits, Heafy also maintains a blog that chronicles her world travels with her musician husband and their twin toddlers. Among her other interests is a passion for supporting music therapy at a local children’s hospital.
