Free portraits will be taken of all intergenerational participant groups.

ORLANDO (Sept. 20, 2021) – Let’s take a walk, together. Growing Bolder, a major media producer and worldwide leader in rebranding aging, announced today a free intergenerational walking event in partnership with Track Shack and Florida Blue Medicare.

The Wisdom Walk is an opportunity for cross-generational conversations during a one-mile stroll in Orlando. The route will begin and end at the Track Shack retail location, and the event will include free family or group portraits by renowned portrait photographer Mike Dunn.

Ideally, walking groups are comprised of a mix of age generations:

  • Parents, Grandparents, Great grandparents + Kids, Grandkids or Great Grandkids
  • An Older Neighbor with a Younger Neighbor
  • Multi-Generational Friends or Co-Workers

Individuals are welcome as well, and will be paired with someone of a different generation on the event day. Walkers will receive questions along the walk for their group to talk about. After the walk, Growing Bolder will interview walkers about the experience to discover and share what they learned from each other.

“Intergenerational relationships are beneficial to the overall health and wellbeing of all involved,” said Growing Bolder CEO Marc Middleton. “We want to create opportunities to engage with others and learn that everyone, no matter their age or background, has wisdom to share and something to learn. Thanks to our friends at Florida Blue Medicare and the support of Track Shack, we’re thrilled to create this unique opportunity for connection.”

“Every person, no matter their age, background or lifestyle, has a unique and personal story to tell. Events like the Wisdom Walk help bring our community closer together by bridging generational gaps, providing unique perspectives and building new relationships that make us all stronger,” said Florida Blue Market President Tony Jenkins. “Through this collaboration with Growing Bolder and Track Shack, Florida Blue Medicare hopes to remind our community that physical health as well as camaraderie and connection are all essential elements for improving our overall health, well-being and happiness.”

“Surrounding ourselves with the next generation and seeing their energy and love for fitness creates satisfaction for Jon and I as we settle into our sixth decade of life,” said Track Shack co-owner Betsy Hughes.

The Wisdom Walk is free, but registration is required.
