ORLANDO (Nov. 12, 2020) – Marc Middleton, the Emmy Award-winning CEO and founder of Growing Bolder, was awarded the 2020 Distinguished Ambassador in Aging Award by the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) in Tucson, Arizona. He also was asked by ALCA to be part of a prestigious panel under consideration for South by Southwest (SXSW), an internationally known conference celebrating film, interactive media, music and discussions about the future.

Middleton, a former anchor at WESH-TV in Orlando, is a leading voice in the revolutionary rebranding of aging. He has created multi-media platforms that include national TV and radio programs, podcast, magazine and book aimed at inspiring the 50+ population to lead active lives filled with passion and purpose.

“Marc and Growing Bolder are shining a light on the bold view of aging,” said ALCA Marketing Co-Chair and Board Member Kate Granigan. “Through their expansive network of followers, Marc and his company offer hope and possibility for all of us on the aging journey.”

Because of his trailblazing, stereotype-busting insights on aging, Middleton was asked by ALCA to be part of a panel seeking to discuss, “Advocating Empowered Aging for All,” at the 2021 SXSW conference. The conference allows the public to help pick the final panels. Voting online ends Friday, Nov. 20, with winning submissions announced in mid-January, 2021. The public can vote at www.sxsw.com

“I’m in awe of the important work ALCA and its members do on a daily basis,” Middleton said. “There is a growing caregiving crisis that threatens to overwhelm our healthcare system and every family in America. We have over 53 million unpaid caregivers that are putting their own health and financial future at risk to care for a family member or friend. ALCA and Growing Bolder share the fundamental belief that more is possible and we all have a stake in this fight.”

Growing Bolder is experiencing explosive growth and recently renovated its new headquarters, expanded its staff and redesigned its website: www.growingbolder.com. The company has developed a broad reach that includes a million social-media followers and more engagement on Facebook than most major networks. The Growing Bolder TV show reaches up to 85% of all U.S. households, a radio program on NPR and a popular podcast. The company also has the largest lifestyle publication in Florida with more than 159,000 subscribers.
