Marc Middleton Named ‘Power Player’

The “Orlando Business Journal” today announced that Growing Bolder Founder and CEO Marc Middleton is one of Central Florida’s Top 50 Power Players in recognition of his efforts to redefine aging.

The inaugural awards were created to highlight “individuals helping grow and innovate the way business is done throughout metro Orlando.”

Nominees were required to be business leaders based in Central Florida and were judged based on their accomplishments in five categories: 1) Industry Giants, 2) Disruptors, 3) Deal Makers, 4) Connectors and 5) Heavy Hitters.

Middleton was nominated in the Disruptor category, which recognizes leaders “who are changing the way we do business through innovation, new technology, new products/services and challenges to current business norms.”

“I’m honored and humbled to be included among so many amazing women and men,” Middleton said.

Middleton, an Emmy Award-winning veteran broadcaster, left his high-profile career at WESH-TV in 2006 to create a new definition and view of aging. The result was Growing Bolder, an award-winning multimedia company in Orlando that produces national TV and radio programs, a podcast and lifestyle magazine all aimed at the 50-plus demographic.

In August, Karla Radka, president and CEO of Senior Resource Alliance, said, “Growing Bolder has a profound impact on the senior community, not only here in Florida but across the United States. This company is redefining what aging looks like through its engaging and inspiring storytelling and has continued to push its content onto unexpected platforms in the past year.”

The “Orlando Business Journal” stated they will have more to say about Middleton and the other winners in the publication’s Nov. 5 edition.
