Charlotte Sanddal embodied active longevity. She had a strong, intergenerational circle of friends, refused to let health setbacks slow her down, and filled her life with volunteering, travel, and adventure. She didn’t take up competitive swimming until her 70s — and we caught up with her at 94, in between races as she won five national age-group championships. Charlotte lived to be 101.
