Edna Jones Allen is a pioneer worthy of recognition. This former college basketball star is known as the “Godmother of Senior Women’s Basketball” in Michigan, credited for co-founding the Michigan Spirits and creating opportunities for decades of women 50 and beyond to keep lacing ‘em up. When she looked around her community and couldn’t find any senior women’s teams, she decided to start one herself.
