Note: this segment is sponsored by Little, Brown and Company.

In this Bolder Books segment, we welcome back a frequent Growing Bolder guest and one of the most read authors in America today. There’s a pretty good chance you know him through characters like Alex Cross, Michael Bennett and through series like Women’s Murder Club, Private, NYPD Red and many more.

Of course, we’re talking about James Patterson. He has sold well over 350 million books and holds the Guinness World Record for the most #1 New York Times bestsellers.

He’s just released The Black Book, which he co-authored with David Ellis. In the story, police officer Billy Harney miraculously survives a shootout that leaves two others dead, but remembers nothing about what led up to it. He finds himself charged with double murder and in his pursuit of the truth, finds a little black book that turns out to be a very BIG deal.

James joined us by phone to share why he says this is the best book he’s written in decades, and what’s next for this legendary author.

We love James Patterson’s books, and we also love that he has a big heart…Move Forward. Give Back is a philosophy that he lives by. Learn more about his charitable initiatives, as well as the Read Kiddo Read program he has for kids and parents at JamesPatterson.com.
