Giving Tuesday Offers Perfect Gift of Charitable Deeds

In

Giving Tuesday isn’t just a commemorative throwaway day.It has meaning. It has purpose. And it speaks to the Growing Bolder brand. One of Growing Bolder’s mantras is Move Forward. Give Back.®

Many charities rely on Giving Tuesday as a financial pick-me-up. #GivingTuesday is touted as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.”

But you can do it in your own backyard. Giving Tuesday gives everyone the perfect opportunity to step up to the plate.

Pet lover? You can do the heavy lifting and go to a shelter and adopt a pet. Or you can cut a check to one of the many charitable organizations that help pets in need.

Kid lover? This requires heavier lifting, of course, but you can look into child adoption or fostering.

“On any given day in Central Florida, close to 3,000 children are in the care of our community, many of them in foster care,” Glen Casel, President and CEO of Embrace Families wrote recently in an op-ed. “Kids don’t enter the child welfare system because they have done anything wrong. They are there to make sure they are in a safe place.”

Finding a family under the Christmas tree would be the ultimate gift for a child in need.

Want to give to the charity of your choice? Let Charity Navigator help you manage the system and find out which charities provide the most for your charitable bucks.

Or you can simply mask up and deliver a meal to a neighbor or friend.

That’s the beauty of Giving Tuesday.

It’s what you make it.

So own it.

Move forward. Give back.
