Editors Note: Gil passed away from natural causes on February 17th, 2021 at the age of 95.

Gil Walton was born and raised in Live Oak, he currently lives in Lakeland and for the past nine decades, he has spent as much time as possible just up the road in Homosassa. The 95-year-old is one of the last living World War II veterans and Growing Bolder headed out onto the water with him to show how his family — and a morning of fishing — keeps him passionate about embracing each and every day.
