If you’re on Facebook, over the past few weeks you may have noticed the same story popping into your feed again and again. No one ever knows how these things get started, but once they do, they take on a life of their own.
And that’s exactly how the woman who is featured in this clip found her new career. You might call her an overnight sensation … 50 years in the making.
The clip is called “Don’t Send a Man to the Grocery Store,” and it’s an lough-out-loud funny story from one of our favorite comediennes, the great Jeanne Robertson.
This small bit from one of her stand-up routines has now been viewed nearly 7 million times on YouTube! If you haven’t seen it yet, take a few minutes to watch it. It’s a hilarious and clean comedy routine that will ring true to many couples.
We first learned about Jeanne a few years back and knew we had to get to know her better. When she came into our neck of the woods on one of her many comedy tours, we jumped at the chance to spend some time with this feisty, sharp-as-a-tack Southern funny lady. What we found was a warm, hilarious and gifted storyteller who doesn’t leave the building until she’s shook every hand and sent every person home with a smile. Now that you’ve seen what’s quickly becoming one of the most popular comedy bits online for a comedian of any age — let alone someone in her 70s — watch our video and see what makes her even more special.
